I've been searching for jobs and other work, not much happening so far. The economy seems to be pretty bad around here. I've talked to several places for computer repair work and no one is hiring, I may have to go back to electronics for a while.
Blizzard Entertainment (makers of World of Warcraft) has their headquarters out here, so it'd be great to get a job there somehow! But they are about 55 miles away! I applied with them.
Weather has been pretty nice highs most days are in the 60's, so I'm able to drive around with the car windows open and no jacket on, which is nice!
I found something that I could do a video about for #156, I have to go look at the place more first, though.

I've got video of the trip and some local roads already filmed, I have to do some talking scenes and edit it into #155 and maybe #156, so the next episode should be ready in the next week or so.
It's quite a change from PA. I've been driving around the area some, finding stores and going to some places. There's more mexicans here than you can shake a stick at! I've been in the local Wal-Mart, and every open register had a line about 10 people long, and it was about 90% mexicans, or so it seemed.
The area I used to live in was about 90% white, maybe more.
But in the past week I've gotten used to it, they don't bother me.
I see lots of older 1960s and 1970s cars here with NO RUST on them, even if the paint job is totally shot. That just doesn't exist in the Pittsburgh area, especially with the winter road salt!
I'm not missing PA yet, especially while it is still winter there. I'm driving around here with the car windows open and no jacket on! I've got enough things to do here to keep me busy.
Haven't done much regular job searching yet, got to do that next week.

I made the trip, I've got an apartment here in North Hollywood now. 4 days on the road, 2500 miles, a 17 inch snowstorm in Flagstaff, AZ right before I got to that area.... lots of fun.
I filmed about 30 minutes of video along the way, I need to film a bit more here, add some talking scenes to it, then edit it into the next episode. Not sure yet if it'll be one episode or a 2 part episode.

It's 2/6/9, and if all continues to go according to schedule, I'll be getting on the road tomorrow for the long drive out to LA.
Today I will do some filming for the first part of the episodes about the trip, the "Another Ride" series. I'm thinking it'll be 2 or 3 parts, released pretty close together.

I don't know anyone out there, I'm going to just pile up the car with as much stuff as will fit and hit the road. I know a few people who have been there or who know someone there, but I'm not expecting much help from them.
I've been researching apartments and what areas I'd like to live in for a while now. I'm looking at areas north and north west of the city.
For work, I'll continue doing my computer repair work, and I've got some cash saved up, which is what's making this possible. And that's what kept me here, stuck in small town nowhere for so many years.

Yes, the color combination may not be the best to some people, but I can't imagine the layout being any simpler. You see the clearly labeled and easy to read tabs on the left or right side, you click on them, you go there. How much easier to use can it possibly be?
As for the show backgrounds, this is a no-budget show, and I only have one tripod and it's needed to hold the camera. For the type of episodes I do in most cases, NOT looking at the camera to speak to the people watching would be more unusual.
If it were an episode involving several people, then it may not be the way to go.
I've thought of changing the colors, but it's been this way for so long.

Yes, I'm still on WoW pretty hard. I got full PVP gear on my 70 hunter from arenas and battlegrounds, and I leveled my Human Paladin to 59 and just respecced him Holy to be a group healer.
The new expansion comes out on 11/13 so I'll get that.
By mid December my plans should be pretty well set, so watch for that, and I've got to get the new #153 episode up too!

Yes, I'm still here, I stop by here every day or 2 to see if there are new messages.
I've got the next episode in mind, I just have to find time to film & edit it. It's overdue.
You been making any new videos lately? I tried looking up your site a month or so ago but I don't think there was anything new there.
I may have some new news to be announced in December or so, I'm just waiting to see how the $$$ works out, so far it's looking good! If all goes well it'll be the biggest change of scenery on this site since the 2 part "The Ride" episodes back in July '04. Wow, has it been FOUR YEARS since then?!?!? I can't believe it.
Check in now & then!

When I hit level 70, I dropped Skinning for Engineering and power slammed it from 0-350 skill in 4 hours. I just built whatever needed the least amount of materials to get skill points with. Of course, I had been saving mats all through the 58-70 leveling in Outlands, so that made it easy. Even then, I still spent close to 400 gold on extra mats. I just wanted the Roflcopter, and got it.
As far as what engineering items I use, my main carries Dense Dynamite all the time, and my non-engineering alts have EZ-Thro Dynamite. It helps out in killing mobs or other players.
The engineering bombs and grenades needs more mats to build and don't do as much damage in most cases, so I never messed with them except for when I was skilling from 0-350.
My Goblin Rocket Launcher gets used a lot, both in normal PVP and in dungeons.
The Zapthrottle Mote Extractor and Surestrike Goggles v. 2.0 allow me to see and farm motes from gas clouds. I can get motes / primal manas in Netherstorm, motes / primal waters in Zangarmarsh, and motes / primal airs in Nagrand.
Those 2 Engineering items alone have made me thousands of gold. Flying around on my Turbo Roflcopter makes it fast and fun also! The mote extractor needs skill level 305 and I think the goggles are 375 skill level, but they are worth it. There are other goggles in the game that allow you to see gas clouds until you can build the Surestrike ones.
Other than that, I don't make much stuff with Engineering, although lately I've built and sold a few Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyers on the auction house, for 1050 and 1265 gold. I'm collecting mats now for a 3rd gun to be built & sold.

That is still the plan, and it has been for well over 3 years now. Only ONE thing is standing in the way of me making the jump cross country. Dollars. Dollars to move, dollars to get a decent apartment there (rent starts around $1000 per month! ), dollars to live on for at least a few months, etc. If not for that one minor insignificant little detail, I've have been there already. And it's very aggravating that I'm still here in PA. Every day I'm still stuck here because of dollars is another day of my life wasted. But I'm working on it, and it's gonna happen sooner or later! Hopefully sooner!

5 years. We made it to 5 years and 150 episodes! Quite a lot!
What's coming next? More episodes!
Watch the first videos compared to the last videos currently on the site. Have I changed in the last 5 years? I'm not any richer, that's for sure! I'm also not much closer to my career goals, sad to say. But at least I've got this going on.

No, it was time to renew the domain name. And the local ISP I had used to start the site was out of business, so I had to go directly to Tucows and pound the facts into their thick heads, and Sarcnet had sold out its web hosting to its parent company, so I had to get things organized with them also. And I then also had to reregister the domain name elsewhere, which took more time and emails.
But it's all good now, I have the domain name set until 3/17/2014! ;D
Paying the monthly ISP fee is another issue, though........
How did you post here 2 days ago if the site was offline until today?

XP to go 59-60 : 190-something thousand.
XP to go 60-61 - 474,000 or something close, I forget exactly.
But the quests in Outland pay a lot more xp, so it's not as bad as it seems.

Last night I dinged 375 in Goblin Engineering. Even though I had all the Fel Iron and Khorium Bars I needed, things like Primal Fire and Adamantite Bars cost about 250 gold to go from 365 to 375. That stuff is expensive!

My 70 dwarf hunter is my only high level character, after that I have a 41 human paladin, 33 human mage, 22 human rogue, 10 gnome warlock, and a 7 night elf warrior. The 41, 33, and 22 were made just so I could do more professions.
My 70 took 27 days 10 hours /played time and 15 months real time to get his 70.
The 70 is 375 mining / 363 engineering, the 41 is 300 leatherworking / 300 engineering, 33 is 225 alchemy / 230 herbalism, 22 is 225 tailoring / 225 blacksmithing.
Then I just wanted to try a gnome and a warlock, and a night elf and a warrior.
I keep and sell the gems that JC's make for me, I just give them a small tip for doing the work. I still make money on the deal, or I wouldn't do it.
Scopes sell for some nice money on my server too, but if you buy the materials it costs as much to make them as what they sell for. As a miner I can get the materials for free if I spend enough time mining them.
